Institutional roles

Complementary work.
Clear responsibilities.

The Sleep Epidemiology Foundation and EVAL Research Institute contribute to scientific work through distinct educational, operational and technological roles.

Foundation and Institute

Two institutions with defined functions.

Sleep Epidemiology Foundation

Education and scientific exchange

The Foundation is a nonprofit public benefit organization supporting symposia, educational activity, mentorship, scholarly discussion and research development.

EVAL Research Institute

Research operations and technology

EVALRI is a private research company that provides research infrastructure and supports research operations.

Complementarity

Connecting education with research experience.

Educational activities benefit from experience in study design, clinical assessment and research operations. Research programs benefit from scientific discussion, methodological exchange and the development of investigators.

Collaboration between the Foundation and EVALRI is organized around the needs of a defined activity. The mission, governance and responsibilities of each institution remain specific to that institution.

Ad-Infer and intellectual property

Maurice M. Ohayon personally holds all rights in Ad-Infer and its associated intellectual property. EVAL Research Institute holds no ownership rights in Ad-Infer.

Academic context

The role of SSERC.

The Stanford Sleep Epidemiology Research Center (SSERC) is an academic research center directed by Maurice M. Ohayon. Its research network and satellite centers operate under SSERC’s scientific direction.

Foundation activities and collaborations are defined separately for each program. The Foundation, EVALRI and SSERC each retain their institutional identity and responsibilities.
